Veteran’s Parade on Saturday, November 4

The Adams County Republican Party will have an entry in the Veteran’s Parade on Saturday, November 4. Everyone is welcome to participate and show your support for our veterans.

Dear Parade Participant:
We want to thank you for your support for the Veterans and the men and women on active duty. Thank you also for participating in the Veteran’s Parade of the Quincy Area. Republican Party parade entry number is 31.

Please enter from 24th and Maine heading west. At 20th and Maine there will be Parade Marshals to guide you to your assigned place in the parade. We will start lining up at 8:15 AM and the Parade will start at 10:00 AM. Please be in your spot and ready to start at 9:15 AM if at all possible.
We will have two staging areas for those with trailers and buses. They will be at the Jr. High School parking lot at 12th and Maine and the lot behind the school board office at 14th and Maine.
**CANDY may ONLY be handed out by WALKERS! Absolutely NO throwing candy from any moving vehicles or trailers! Please only hand out candy between 12th & 5th Street.
We will once again have our afternoon parade at the Illinois Veterans Home starting at 1:00 PM for those resident veterans who are unable to attend the Maine Street Parade. We would like to invite all of you to join us there as well. Enclosed is a map of the Parade Route at the Veterans Home, which is subject to change due to construction. We will line up in the roadway behind Lake Illinois with the parade starting to the west of Lake Illinois.
Lunch will be provided for the parade participants going to the Veterans Home for the second parade. The Red Cross will serve a free bag lunch at Smith Hall (Ham & Cheese Sandwich, Chips, Dessert & Bottled Water or Coffee)

Again, thank you for being with us on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, and we look forward to seeing you then.

Camp Point Central homecoming parade is this Thursday evening 9/21. Parade is at 6, lineup starting at 5 in Bailey Park. We are entered. Thanks to Mike Nall for coordinating this parade!

Mendon Unity homecoming parade is Friday, September 29, at 5 p.m. Lineup starting at 4 p.m. in the lot west of the school. We are entered.

Clayton Parade

The Adams-Brown Old Settlers Parade is this Saturday, August 12, in Clayton. The parade starts at 10 a.m. Check in and lineup will take place at the corner of Augusta Road and Main Street in Clayton at 9:30 a.m. Judge Amy Lannerd and Todd Eyler will both have groups walking in the parade. Anyone that can come out to support them and our Coroner Scott Graham would be appreciated. Thanks to Jerry Nall for coordinating this parade.

 

Payson Old Settlers Parade

The Adams County Republican Party will have an entry in the Payson Old Settlers Parade this Saturday, August 5. Judge Amy Lannerd and Todd Eyler will both have groups walking with us. Lineup is at noon in front of the grade school and the parade is at 1 p.m. All are welcome to participate.

 

Upcoming Republican Party Activities

The Adams County Fair runs from Wednesday, July 26 through Tuesday, August 1.

We will have our annual watermelon feed on Friday, July 28 at 5:30 p.m. Anyone wishing to help with the watermelon, please be there at 5 p.m.

Our annual sweet corn feed by County Clerk Ryan Niekamp and County Treasurer Bryden Cory will be on Saturday, July 29 at 5 p.m. Anyone that wishes to help with the sweet corn, we can use help starting at 3 p.m.

Also, any help manning the Republican booth at the entrance to the grandstands would be appreciated. Hours for the booth each evening are usually from about 5:30 – 8:30. You can call Dave at 217-242-0813.

The Payson Old Settlers Parade is on Saturday, August 5 at 1 p.m. We will be lining up in front of the grade school at 12 noon. Justice Amy Lannerd and Todd Eyler will both have groups with us. All are welcome.

The Clayton Old Settlers Parade is on Saturday, August 12 in the a.m. More info to follow.

The Liberty Fall Festival Parade is on Saturday, September 9 at 10 a.m. Line up will be in the school parking lot at 9 a.m.
